International Learn to Fly Day

International Learn to Fly Day at Beaufort County Airport

Anderson Aviation provided Discovery Flights at Beaufort County Airport this past Saturday for the first annual International Learn to Fly Day. Learn to Fly Day was created to increase interest in flying and to encourage the aviation community to get others involved in aviation. Over 300 flight schools and organizations across America participated in the event.

Anderson Aviation's flight instructor Dru Anderson flew almost seven hours Saturday giving Discovery Flights. Discovery flights include a 30 minute ground lesson followed by a 30 minute flight with a FAA certified flight instructor. Discovery Flights are a great economical way to start learning about aviation and experience the freedom of flight for the first time!

If you are interested in aviation Beaufort County Airport is a great place to start learning. The airport community is very friendly and more that willing to answser questions about flying and aviation in general. There are fewer and fewer airports of its kind remaining where you can sit outside in a rocking chair and watch the airplanes and interact with the pilots.

The first International Learn to Fly Day hosted at Beaufort County Airport was a great success. We had the opportunity share the experience of flying with people of all ages. Leonardo da Vince once said “When once you have tasted flight you will forever walk the earth with you eyes turned skyward for there you have been and there you will always long to return.”

Thanks to all who came out to Beaufort County Airport
to take part in International Learn to Fly Day 2010!
